About Us
Quality Roofing is a family-owned and -operated local business. We have served Lamar County and surrounding areas since 1993. Our company was established in 1993 by Jack Hoskins Jr.
Jack has great memories of the start-up of his early business when he was only 19 years old. His only employee at that time was his younger brother David. He began to build a roofing crew with friends and those memories are priceless. A few of these energetic friends were Michael Oneal, Ernie Emeyabbi, Jack Kindle, Trevor Upchurch, Chad Posey, Jeremy Prunty, and Joey Martin.
One memory that stands out to Jack is that Michael Oneal always was on time and had a five-gallon bucket filled with his tools. Throughout the years, Jack has been able to build Quality Roofing into a company that places great emphasis on the trust of the community with our workmanship and reputation.
Quality Roofing now provides our community and surrounding areas with residential and commercial roofing. In 2018, Quality Roofing celebrated its 25th anniversary. That December to celebrate, we had a drawing to give away a $5,000 roofing rebate for a roof replacement that occurred in that year. It was a great experience to draw the name of Joe Bob Stewart, which Jack has had the privilege to know and work for.
We're now our 30th year of business. In over 6,000 roofing jobs, we have had the privilege of meeting and working for some extraordinary people. We will take great pride in continuing to serve our community and will uphold ourselves to the highest standards. The trust of Lamar County is of the utmost importance to Quality Roofing.
The Junior Crew
Quality Roofing has a special crew known as the Junior Crew. It originated with the owner’s son, Jackson Hoskins, going to work with his dad as early as 6 months. Jackson would spend time in the roofing truck with his dad and loved the local lumber yards. When Jackson was five, he started helping Jack with small repairs. He “helped” assist Jack and began learning the basic foundations of roofing.
In the summer of 2019, the junior crew was created. Jackson and several of his friends wanted summer jobs. This group of country boys became known as the junior crew. Jack spent time that summer showing them what roofing was about. They learned basic roofing skills, and carpentry, and became clean-up experts.
In the summer of 2020, this crew was promoted and was taught by Jack to handle nail guns. They helped complete several roofing replacements that summer. Jack has come to look forward to the summers when the Junior Crew comes back to work. They are still learning the roofing trade and learning the importance of hard work and teamwork. Now at the age of 16 years old, they have their tools and work out of their truck. They work alongside Quality Roofing’s regular year-round crews roofing. They can work on full roof replacements and have greatly helped the company with the skills they have learned on repair jobs.
